Why Doesn’t Silicon Valley Hire Black Coders?
> It is very hard to break into any community. Silicon Valley with its own unique culture is somewhat of a black box to outsiders. The diversity issue will persist unless the MOOCs get smart about training unconventional students Blacks, women,older folks in the right courses which puts them in the "on demand " category for Silicon Valley. This is how Asians broke into Silicon Valley -by train to be programmers in the Y2K era when the demand was high. The employers were willing to compromise on communication skills and other cultural issues because they could not afford to let a good programmer go. Now Asians are as much Silicon Valley as the Whites. It can be done!
